Hi!

crazy

current mood: crazy

I'm still alive!

I didn't realize I hadn't posted here this year. Wow. Bad me. I've been swamped. Took two difficult writing workshops that helped, but also told me my original fic needs a lot more TLC.

I've decided to concentrate on writing fanfic again for a while. Use the lessons I learned in my workshops to hone my skills that way. Margie Lawson is an AWESOME teacher! I'm also going to go back to attempting nonfiction articles for pay. I really want to get some publishing credits and write off part of the cost of my replacement computer. Yes, my 2 yr-old computer died a sudden, premature death. The joys of the new-type processors, the Geek Squad said. They can die at any moment, even straight out of the factory.

Yay, Bill Gates.

I suppose it keeps him out of the poor house, though.

So, what fandoms is everyone following now? I still adore SGA (sniff, sniff), Farscape, Earth2, Andromeda (with Rommie!), Doctor Who, and Torchwood. Primeval unexpectedly waylaid me to become a favorite too. I love NCIS and House, but probably won't write for them. I'm into Stardoc (books), the Skolian Empire, and the Vorkosigan series. I hope to do a lot of catch up reading this summer.

I actually would love, love, love to write something as classy and deep as the Vorkosigan series. It has it all for me: SF, Romance, humor, action, politics, aliens...in the amounts I like.

I'm currently collecting all of the Dr. Who, Torchwood, and SGA books I can find. I figure Primeval will be out soon too and I'll be compelled to add a library to my house. LOL.

Anyway, I'm brainstorming Gen SGA for a zine, hopefully, plus a fic featuring the Alt!team with Rep!Weir, and have a weird SGA fic started.

I've decided that all nine of my original novels must be trashed, save a few scenes, characters, settings and general plots. Perhaps I'll resurrect some this summer.

Must dash!

Happy days and hope to you all!

Stay well!

Anna
